Africa-Press – South-Africa. Bongani Bingwa speaks with EWN politics editor Tshidi Madia.
Ten former MPs of the MK Party have approached the court for an order to attach bank accounts in the name of the party and its leader, Jacob Zuma.
They claim to have been encouraged to ‘donate’ part of their salaries to Zuma by paying it directly into his Capitec account.
They were also allegedly told to buy the party leader a cow.
The former MK MPs applied to attach the accounts to prevent the respondents from disposing of any funds before the launch of a second court application.
The MPs also intend to apply for compensation as their party membership was terminated shortly after being sworn in.
“I think these 10 MPs who are crying about loss of revenue, their only remedy can come from the courts.”
– Tshidi Madia“Buying cows? Money to the leader? I am not shocked at all.”
