Some African National Congress (ANC) supporters reflected on the party’s 30-year reign in government as it wraps up its election campaign ahead of next week’s polls.

Thousands of ANC supporters are assembled at the FNB Stadium in Soweto on Saturday for the party’s final election rally.

While its supporters acknowledged the party’s mistakes, they also slammed criticism suggesting the ANC has done nothing in the last 30 years.

Despite high unemployment, load shedding and rampant crime countrywide, ANC supporters said they’re satisfied with the organisation’s governance.

Molaleto Ramasoka, an avid ANC supporter, said suggestions that the ANC is failing South Africans were baseless.

“The ANC has taken our children to school, some have received RDP houses, we also get social grants every month, so we are satisfied with our party.”

Meanwhile, buses transporting the party’s ground forces to the Siyanqoba rally are beginning to arrive.

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa is due to address the party’s supporters at the final rally.
