Africa-Press – South-Africa. There was a commotion inside and outside the Orlando Magistrate’s Court in Soweto on Monday, ahead of the expected court appearance of five people in connection with the murders of 16 people who were shot dead at a tavern in July.
Residents of the Nomzamo informal settlement, where the murders took place, gathered outside the court building for the appearance of five people who were allegedly linked to the shooting.
However, only family members and members of the media were allowed into the tiny courtroom.

The residents then forced their way into the courtroom, shouting that they wanted to see the people who had caused mayhem in their community.
Police officers battled to contain the crowd.
On 10 July, a group of armed men allegedly arrived in a Toyota Quantum and opened fire at patrons of Mdlalose Tavern in Nomzamo Park.
The gunmen used an AK47 and pistols, according to survivors.
Sixteen people were killed.
Police Minister Bheki Cele later went to the scene of the shooting and revealed that more than 130 AK-47 cartridges were collected.
