Africa-Press – South-Africa. Two people were arrested on Friday in Tafelsig, Cape Town in connection with two separate arms-related incidents.

In the one incident, according to a statement, the behaviour of two unknown men raised the police’s suspicions.

“They stopped and searched both males and confiscated a pistol with ammunition,” police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, said.

A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged.

In an unrelated incident, police responded to information and searched an address in the same area, Swartbooi said.

“Upon arrival in Honolulu Street in Tafelsig, they searched the premises and confiscated a revolver with ammunition.”

“They arrested and detained a 48-year-old man on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition,” he said.

Both men are expected to appear in court soon for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
