Western Cape Launches Digital Learner's License System

Africa-Press – South-Africa. Writing the learner’s licence test has just become a little easier if you’re in the Western Cape.

The province’s mobility department has officially launched a new digital learner’s license testing system in Beaufort West.

The new method will replace the traditional pen and paper test in the hope of lowering corruption.

Western Cape MEC for Mobility Isaac Sileku said that the computerised test would also help hearing-impaired individuals with on-screen instructions.

“You know you have to punch in your ID number and then it will give you some questions and its randomly selected by the system and there’s a data of about 1,200 questions and its very quick. You know, you get your answers on the spot and your results on the spot and then if you fail, you can also on the spot make another appointment.”

He added that the new system would also deliver faster and more accurate results.
