Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The Inspector General of Police said at least 50 senior security officials comprising police, National Security and VIP protection officers will be sent for a leadership training in Ethiopia.

General Atem Marol Biar said the trainees are 20 Major Generals from the Police Service, 20 senior National Security officers and 10 VIP Officers.

He disclosed that this is the second group that will be sent to the African Leadership of Excellency Academy in Ethiopia.

According to him, the first batch of 15 senior police officers underwent the same leadership training in Ethiopia in January 2024.

“We shall start with the second group who are between 51-60 years old, for the officers. Last month (January), we sent a total of 15 senior officers of Police for the leadership training of 31 days,” he said.

The program, according to him, was initiated by the Head of the Organized Forces, who is President Kiir.

“Your excellency, next week, the other group comprise of 20 major generals of police, 20 senior officers from national security and 10 officers from VIP, all totaling 50 officers, will be sent for the same leadership training in Ethiopia.”

IGP Marol said he believes transformation in the security sector can be achieved through leadership trainings.
