Dhieu Mathok says he was quarantined with false COVID-19 positive results in Qatar

Africa-Press – South-Sudan. South Sudan’s minister of investment Dhieu Mathok Diing Wol has said that he was wrongly quarantined in Qatar and that latest health check by him indicates that he was not actually positive for coronavirus disease.

This comes weeks after a South Sudan high-level delegation was quarantined in Qatar after the minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation, Mayiik Ayii Deng, tested positive for COVID-19.

Later on, South Sudan government information minister and spokesman, Michael Makuei Lueth told the media in Juba that Dhieu had also tested positive for COVID-19 and that he will remain in Qatar until the quarantine period end.

But in a tweet this afternoon, Mathok said he was wrongly quarantined in Qatar after a health check by him indicated that he was not actually found positive with coronavirus disease.

“It’s unfortunate that after completing 12 days in quarantine, I discovered that I was not tested positive,” Mathok said.

“The details of my status were not even included in the check list for them to justify my detention,” he added.
