Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The Governor of Central Equatoria, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, held a high-level meeting on Tuesday with veteran politician Gen. Alfred Ladu Gore, where the two leaders discussed governance and state-building.
Gen Gore paid a courtesy visit to Governor Emmanuel Adil on Tuesday, December 23, to offer guidance on the future of Central Equatoria State.
The visit served as a formal congratulation following Governor Adil’s re-appointment. However, the engagement quickly shifted toward a deep discussion on the principles of governance, with Gen. Gore sharing what aides described as “wise counsel” on the pillars of a successful administration.
During their meeting, Gen. Gore—a revered figure in South Sudanese politics—emphasized that the state’s progress depends on three core values aligning state leadership toward a single goal of stability, maintaining transparency in government actions, and ensuring that leadership is defined by the tangible benefits provided to the citizens.
Governor Adil described the engagement as both profound and enthusiastic. Acknowledging the historical weight and experience Gen. Gore brings to the table, the Governor pledged to maintain a close working relationship with veteran leaders.
Adil noted that the unique expertise of seasoned statesmen is essential for fostering unity among current state leaders and navigating the complexities of the peace and development roadmap.
“We will work hand in hand with our veterans,” Governor Adil stated, “leveraging their wisdom to ensure Central Equatoria remains on a steady path toward lasting peace.”
