Africa-PressSouth-Sudan. The Chairperson of Jonglei State Anti-Corruption Commission, Peter Pal Chuol Paul, who was appointed by President Salva Kiir Mayardit to the position in February this year on the ticket of Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) led by First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny resigned.

In a statement extended to Sudans Post, Mr. Chuol however did not state why he resigned from the corruption watchdog, rather than pointing to personal reasons which he did not also mentioned in his resignation which he said will be effective from Wednesday.

“In reference to the above mentioned subject, kindly accept this letter as a formal notice that I am resigning as the Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission in Jonglei state with effect from the 22nd September 2021,” he said in a letter addressed to the governor Denay Chagor.

“This resignation is purely based on personal reasons. It was quite an experience serving in your administration. Thank you. I would like to thank everyone who supported me through thick and thin, I appreciate you all,” he added.
