Africa-Press – South-Sudan. The police in Awerial County of South Sudan’s Lakes State say they have arrested the main suspect in the murder of a man identified only as Madol in Magok Payam last Friday.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday, the police chief inspector in Awerial County, Bol Tier said the suspect identified as Agotdiet Jiel was arrested on Sunday and will be arraigned in court after police investigations conclude.
“It was Friday evening when a suspect identified as Agotdiet Jiel, killed a victim identified as Madol in Magok Payam of Awerial County. We went there on Saturday, and on Sunday, the security forces managed to apprehend the suspect. He is now at the Gulyar police custody for investigations,” Tier said. The police official urges the family of the victim to let the law take its course and resist revenge.
“We had talked to the family of the victims yesterday (Monday) during the burial. We told them, not to do anything or revenge. The police have apprehended the suspect. Now, the situation is normal and after they finish they will come to the police for the investigation process because we have not yet started any investigation process with the suspect,” he noted. According to the police, the investigations will begin today.
