Africa-Press – South-Sudan. A high-level South Sudan ministerial delegation led by the country’s Presidential Advisor on Security Affairs Tutkew Gatluak has arrived in the Gulf nation of Qatar’s capital Doha to prepare for an alleged visit by President Salva Kiir Mayardit, two presidential sources in Juba have just told Sudans Post.
According to the sources, the delegation, apart from Gatluak, includes ministers of foreign affairs, finance and planning, investment, roads and bridges, higher education, agriculture, wildlife, and tourism and conservation.
Other members of President Salva Kiir’s government who are also part of the delegation include the governor of central bank, managing director of state oil firm Nilepet, as well as secretary-general of Islamic Council of South Sudan.
Speaking to Sudans Post this evening, one of the two sources said the delegation was traveling to Doha to prepare ground for President Salva Kiir Mayardit which he said is expected to take place soon.
“This is to inform you that President Salva Kiir Mayardit, the President of the Republic of South Sudan has sent a high-level delegation led by the security affairs advisor Hon. Tut Gatluak to Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar,” the source who wants to remain anonymous said.
The second source said President Kiir’s visit to Qatar will be decided based on the outcome of the work of the delegation and added that a lot of regional issues including the Tigray and Sudanese conflict is also among the files that will be discussed with Qatari authorities.
“Yes they are in Qatar as we speak, they traveled today, but as to their mission, there are a lot of issues that are to be discussed including the situation in Sudan and Ethiopia and all of these are very important to the government of the Republic of South Sudan,” he added.
