Africa-Press – Tanzania. COAST Regional Commissioner, Mr Abubakar Kunenge, has assured residents that the region is fully prepared for the forthcoming General Election scheduled for tomorrow.
Speaking to reporters at his office in Kibaha Municipal Council, Mr Kunenge said all necessary arrangements have been completed, including comprehensive civic education programmes in collaboration with stakeholders, NGOs, and religious leaders.
“We have undertaken all essential preparations to ensure a smooth voting process. This includes engaging residents through awareness campaigns and equipping them with knowledge about their rights and responsibilities,” he said.
The RC disclosed that the region has a total of 3,941 polling stations, all of which will remain open throughout the day to facilitate voters.
“We are well-prepared to ensure citizens can vote freely without any obstructions. Our security forces are coordinated to guarantee the safety of voters and the peaceful conduct of the elections,” he added.
Mr Kunenge thanked President Samia Suluhu Hassan for declaring election day a public holiday, allowing citizens ample time to participate in the electoral process.
He urged residents to remain united, uphold peace, and reject misinformation.
“I am asking residents not to listen to lies from those with malicious intentions. No one who goes to vote will be harmed. Our security personnel are ready to protect the people and their property. Voting is your democratic and constitutional right, and you must exercise it responsibly,” he insisted.
