Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIAN Ambassador to Turkey, Iddi Seif Bakari, has held talks with a delegation from the United Nations Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries (UNTBLDC), led by its Executive Director, Deodat Maharaj, in Ankara.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed various areas of cooperation between Tanzania and the Bank, focusing on the implementation of development projects in the blue economy, fisheries, and agriculture sectors. They also emphasized the importance of mobilizing development partners to support the implementation of these projects to generate positive outcomes for communities.
The blue economy, fisheries, and agriculture sectors have been prioritized due to their significant contribution to job creation, increased exports, and the strengthening of cross-sectoral linkages that drive national economic growth.
It was noted that the implementation of the projects aligns with the Bank’s 2025–2027 Strategic Plan, which focuses on promoting and advancing the use of technology and innovation as key drivers of social, economic, and scientific development.
For his part, Ambassador Bakari underscored Tanzania’s support for the Bank’s mission to expand the use of technology as an essential tool for achieving sustainable development, particularly in building a science-, technology-, and innovation-driven economy.
He further stated that Tanzania is ready to collaborate with other development stakeholders in implementing the Government’s strategic plans through this partnership to deliver inclusive and sustainable development for its citizens.
