AfricaPress-Tanzania: AFTER tasting his first defeat at the helm of Young Africans, coach Cedric Kaze said there was no need of talking about their 0-1 friendly defeat from African Sports as they focus on their forthcoming Mainland Premier league assignments.

Yanga suffered a 1-0 defeat from African Sports at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam over the weekend to test their first ever defeat this season in all competitions.

A well-crafted 73rd minute strike by Adam Uledi was enough to give the First Division League (FDL) side a sweet victory over one of the country’s football heavyweights.

The match was used as part of preparations ahead of their next crucial Premier League encounter against Mbeya City at Sokoine Stadium on Saturday which will be their 19th league game of the season.

“We should not analyse results, but we should focus on how to progress in the Mainland Premier League to achieve our mission of becoming the champions,” he said.

“It was just a friendly match that should not bother our heads,” he added. “But what was most important is to work on our areas that denied us victory for our future match fitness,” Kaze said.

He added that he is hopeful to see a proper recovery prior to their away match against Mbeya City who sit 17th on the table with 14 points.

“We are aware that Mbeya City’s encounter will be tough and the entire second round of the league is definitely going to be difficult but, I believe that we will perform better to clinch maximum three points,” he said.

Commenting on the performance of his new striker Fiston Razak, Kaze said he showcased good football only that he just needs to have ample time to get used with his teammates.

On his part, the goal poacher on the day Uledi said respecting to what their coach told them was the big secret to their victory.

“At the moment, we just need to continue with the same rhythm in our FDL so that we can earn an opportunity to be promoted next season. “I am happy to create a history of scoring the lone winning goal against Yanga in the season where they had not lost any competitive game,” he said.
