AfricaPress-Tanzania: Young Africans have said that they are working on sharpness of their strikers to make sure that they win points when they play KMC on April 10.

Their match will be held two days after the resumption of the Mainland Premier League. According to the club’s information officer, Hassan Bumbuli, the striking force is responding positive to technical bench’s directives under interim coach Juma Mwambusi.

‘The team had intensive physique training and the coach is now focusing on striking force to make sure that we produce desired results.

He said that Yanga also wished to play some friendly matches for match fitness before the league re-stars, but could not be able to do that as nation is still mourning for the death of the late president John Magufuli.

Yanga strikers have recorded a total of 22 goals from 23 matches they played before the league was suspended. This is incomparable to their rivals, who have 37 goals from 20 matches with their strikers, John Bocco and Medie Kagere leading the league’s scoring line with nine points each followed by Prince Dube of Azam with eight goals.

As the team are focusing on their spectacular show with the aim of winning the title that they eluded for more than two seasons, Mwambusi was recently quoted as saying that he is working hard on his squad considering to the fact that even those who were serving for the national team (Taifa Stars) have rejoined the training ahead of the resumption of the league.

The top-flight league was suspended earlier this month following the sudden demise of Tanzania President John Pombe Magufuli, and it is set to resume next weekend.

Mwambusi, who is handling the team on an interim basis as they search for a permanent coach following the sacking of Burundian Cedric Kaze on March 7, has said at the moment he is working to restore the confidence and of his strikers, insisting they have already responded positively.

The club’s Burundian striker, Saidi Ntibazonkiza, who was for long not available in crucial matches, will also be available for their match against KMC as he was posted training in club’s social media platforms.
