AfricaPress-Tanzania: NEWLY hired Young Africans goalkeeping trainer Razack Siwa has pledged to work hard to sharpen the team’s goalkeepers to make them competitive in between the posts.

Siwa has replaced Burundian Vladimir Niyonkuru who used to work as Yanga goalkeeping coach drilling the team’s current three goalkeepers Farouk Shikalo, Metacha Mnata and Ramadhan Kabwili.

However, speaking in Dar es Salaam yesterday after being officially unveiled by the club, Siwa narrated that he has come to strengthen the team’s goalkeeping department to make it solid during matches.

“I am happy to rejoin Yanga once again because this is not the first time for me to work at the club. What I can say is that I will use my experience to make sure that the goalkeeping sector is solid. “I have already seen positive changes in the Yanga squad as compared with the last time I was here and this has been made possible due to proper investment made at the club,” he said.

He added that by having good goalkeepers, it is one of the guarantees which can make a team win titles at the end of the season hence that is what he wants to achieve at the club.

Again, the Kenyan trainer disclosed that all is not lost for Yanga to win the championship this season insisting that the most important thing is for them to take each league game as a final.

“I think we should not look back to see the results of other teams but instead, we must focus on winning each and every remaining game throughout the campaign. “As such, we should not give room to either a loss or draw. I am sure that if we can work together for a common goal, all these can easily be fulfilled. With support from leaders and fans, we can do great things,” said him.

He also expressed his happiness about the camping site of the team saying it is located at a good place with adequate training facilities suitable for a club of Yanga caliber.

The Jangwani Street based club still tops the 18-team Mainland Premier League table with 50 points from 23 matches and are among the title contenders this term.

On second slot are defending champions Simba who have pocked 46 points after 20 outings while Azam stay plastered on third place with 44 points from 24 games.

Biashara United and KMC complete the top five package with 39 and 35 points apiece.
