Africa-Press – Tanzania. The government has assured the business community to continue working together in identifying and addressing various challenges to create a better business and investment environment.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Industries and Trade, Dr Hashil Abdallah made remarks on Thursday during the launch of a new light commercial vehicle, Phoenix from Indian vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland, in the local market.

“We are ready as the government to work closely with investors in the industrial and business sector to identify and solve various challenges to put the friendly business environment,” he said.

He pointed out that when foreign investors come to do business and bring new products, they are sure of a friendly and safe business environment for their investment to yield expected returns.

“Therefore, the launch of the new product from Indian vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland in the Tanzania market signifies the commitment by the government led by President Samia Suluhu Hassan to creating an enabling environment for doing business and making investments in the country,” he said.

On the occasion witnessed by Indian Ambassador to Tanzania, Mr Binaya Pradhan, Dr Abdallah said the introduction of such a new product by Kifaru Motors Limited would help transporters to easily reach various markets.

He congratulated Kifaru Motors Limited, the dealer of the new vehicle, for their efforts that will help bring development to the people as currently, many products do not reach the markets and factories due to various challenges, including the lack of reliable transportation.

Kifaru Motors Limited, Director Brig. Gen. (rtd) Michael Luwongo said that they have decided to introduce the new product vehicle after seeing that it has cross-cutting uses in the Tanzanian market.

“This car is very useful in small business activities and the transportation of crops from farmers, it is a car that can be needed in large quantities because it can go anywhere, it can withstand any shocks, it has big comfort, it is big on performance, it is big on serving and is big on experience,” he said.

The Country Head of Ashok Leyland, Mr Nitin Waghmatre said that Ashok Leyland is one of the fastest-growing brands in Africa, with a growing market presence in Tanzania.
