Africa-Press – Tanzania. The successful EdTech companies were selected by Sahara Consult in partnership with Mastercard Foundation following a successful call for application.

Sahara Consult Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jumanne Mtambalike, explained that the Fellowship is an acceleration programme aimed at supporting promising African EdTech ventures in collaboration with innovation hubs and accelerators across the continent.

Over the next six months, growth-stage Tanzanian EdTech companies will receive mentorship from Sahara Consult, including business and financial support, along with insights into the science of learning to prepare them for scaling, sustainability, and impact.

“We commend the 14 EdTech companies for showcasing their readiness to transform education through innovation and technology.

As a leader in Tanzania’s EdTech ecosystem, Sahara Consult is committed to providing technical support to these startups, ensuring they scale while addressing key challenges in education, including reaching underserved demographics,” he said.

Some of the 2025 Mastercard Foundation EdTech fellows are namely Swahili Dmakers Limited enhances education through 3D printing technology, Tusome, HM&Y Technologies Ltd, ChemChem Africa Company Limited (ChemCheemi).

Others are Cube, Inspire Hatua, teKsafari, ProjeKt Inspire, Kreative Karakana and SADG Company Limited, Techstar Innovation Hub Ltd and Yana Corp.

“The Mastercard Foundation aims to accelerate EdTech solutions that reach all, including out-of-school youth often excluded from the education system.

When we design with the end user in mind, the business case for these solutions becomes more scalable, sustainable, and impactful,” said Rodwell Mangisi, Acting Director of the Mastercard Foundation Centre for Innovative Teaching and Learning.

In addition to training, the Fellowship will provide equity-free funding of up to 70,000 US dollars to each EdTech company, along with up to one year of post-programme support.

By supporting these EdTech innovators, Sahara Consult and the Mastercard Foundation aim to expand access to technology-enabled education in Tanzania, increasing access to quality, relevant, and inclusive learning.
