Africa-Press – Tanzania. The Chairperson of Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) for Kibiti District Juma Ndaruke has called on the party’s Women’s Wing (UWT) to support capable women candidates to contest for various posts in the upcoming general elections.
Speaking during the launch of Women’s Day celebrations which was hosted by the CCM Women’s wing in the Kibiti on Monday, Ndaruke called on active participation of women vying in decision-making roles to ensure their voices are heard.
‘I encourage everyone to support women who come forward to run for various positions in our communities, especially at Ward level where currently we have only one elected Councilor’.
Ndaruke highlighted the necessity for women to uplift and support one another to form a strong coalition, which is vital for the party’s success in the upcoming 2025 general elections while at the same time cautioned against supporting individuals who may be harbouring personal agenda.
As general election nears, he stressed the importance of integrity among leaders in upholding the respect of both the nation and the party, reiterating that CCM will continue to remove unprincipled leaders from its ranks.
She emphasized the need for directives at the grassroots level to encourage women to contest for various leadership roles.
As the general elections approach, Kimwambe expressed her belief that more women will step forward to contest and vote for other women.
She highlighted various projects launched and implemented by UWT including the construction of the residential house of the CCM Secretary which she said the construction progress is going well and is expected to be completed very soon.
