Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE ruling Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) is underway to establish performance benchmarks for government leaders, monitor their performance according to the standards set by the party for its government

In order to effectively achieve the goal, the party has called upon Tanzanian citizens to remain calm and have faith in the party, the government, and its leaders, noting that the future of Tanzania is better than the past.

CCM Secretary for Ideology, Publicity and Training, Mr Kenani Kihongosi, made the statement when addressing media outlets in Dodoma today, November 19, 2025, saying President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s vision is to see the nation achieve significant development progress.

Elaborating on the various steps the party is ready to take to build a better nation, he said that CCM is fully prepared to hold all government leaders accountable, from ministers, deputy ministers, regional commissioners, district commissioners, directors, ward officers, and others, by ensuring they fulfill their responsibilities properly.

Mr Kihongosi added that the party will not hesitate to take action against government leaders who are lazy, negligent, or who perpetuate or encourage corruption.

“They will face a very difficult time during this period we are entering. CCM will not play around in implementing the 2025–2030 election manifesto.

This government is a government of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi, so everything promised to Tanzanians must be delivered. As a party, we are telling public leaders to be properly accountable,” he said.

Additionally, he said that the party is planning to establish performance benchmarks for government leaders where they will monitor their performance according to the standards set by the party for its government.

“Those whose performance falls short will face immediate action, while those who perform well will be protected,” he said.

Mr Kihongosi added, “CCM has come a long way with the Tanzanians and has a great history. This party will not allow things to deteriorate in any way, and it will take action against leaders who fail to fulfill their duties.”

However, he said that the party will continue to uphold the principles of love, peace, unity, solidarity, mutual respect, and tolerance in fulfilling its activities.
