Africa-Press – Tanzania. Chadema national chairman Tundu Lissu has arrived at the Kisutu Resident Magistrate’s Court.
Mr Lissu arrived at the court on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 4:15 p.m. and was placed in the court’s custody.
The politician was arrested on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, in Mbinga District, Ruvuma Region, shortly after addressing a public rally.
Chadema’s lawyer, Mr Gaston Garubindi, told reporters that the party’s Chairman, Mr Tundu Lissu, has been arrested on allegations of committing two offences: treason and disseminating false information.
He was then transported to Dar es Salaam’s Central Police Station, where he was interrogated, with preliminary reports indicating that the firebrand politician is facing charges of treason and disseminating false information.
