Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Chief Court Administrator Elisante Ole Gabriel commended the Mahakama Sports Club for the remarkable achievement at the just ended Inter-Ministerial Game (Shimiwi) after winning three trophies.
He challenged the institution to form a strong football team that can compete in the country’s top league. Ole Gabriel made the remarks at an occasion to receive three trophies that the Mahakama team won in the Shimiwi competition held in Morogoro Region recently.
The team under the patron Erasmus Uisso competed in tug-of-war, netball and football for both men and women categories. They also participated in traditional sports such as ‘bao’ and drafts. Mahakama team under Coach Idd Pazi ‘Father’ had a total of 78 participants, among them 43 men and 35 women, who helped the team win three trophies.
They won trophies in tugof-war for women and men as well as the most disciplined team award. The men side won the title after beating the Ministry of Works and Transport team in the final showdown, while the women emerged victorious in front of the RAS Iringa team.
Ole Gabriel expressed pleasure with what the whole team did in the competition despite the minor preparations they made for the event.
“I would like to congratulate you. This is a good start. I have been told that this team gathered clerks, magistrates and judges.
