Africa-Press – Tanzania. Members of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) in the Geita region have praised their presidential candidate, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, highlighting her suitability for the presidency due to significant achievements, including the upgrading of the Dar es Salaam port—a vital gateway for Tanzania and neighboring countries.

The commendation came during the official launch of CCM’s campaign to promote its 2025-2030 manifesto in Geita on Tuesday.

Speaking at the ceremony, CCM Regional Chairman Nicholaus Kasendamila, who served as the Guest of Honor, emphasized that the party has entered the campaign with strong foundations built on integrity, trustworthiness, hard work, and the wisdom of Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan.

“Under Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan’s leadership, CCM has solid reasons to seek the Tanzanian people’s mandate to continue leading the nation. Beyond the remarkable progress made at the ports, there are major projects such as the construction of the Busisi Bridge, the completion of the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project (2,115 MW), and the commencement of operations for the modern Standard Gauge Railway (SGR),” Kasendamila stated.

He further revealed that seven out of nine parliamentary constituencies in Geita have gone unopposed so far, along with 92 out of 122 wards.

Kasendamila also cited the successful implementation of the 2020–2025 CCM manifesto in the region, highlighting the construction of 151 new primary schools, 118 new secondary schools, two referral hospitals, four district hospitals, and 17 new health centers.

Additional achievements include 69 new dispensaries, the issuance of 7,600 mining licenses to small-scale miners, and electrification reaching all 486 villages in the region.
