Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has officially received credentials from the Resident Representative of the International Organization for Migration(IOM), Ashraf Hassan.
Speaking after receiving the documents at the ministry’s sub-office in Dar es Salaam, Minister Kombo stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Tanzania and IOM, particularly in addressing migration challenges, combating human trafficking, and building the capacity of national institutions responsible for migration.
The minister noted that Tanzania will continue working closely with IOM to ensure migration activities are conducted safely and in an orderly manner.
“Our cooperation aims to protect human dignity, strengthen national systems, and ensure no one is left behind,” he said.
For his part, Mr Hassan pledged to deepen strong collaboration with the Tanzanian government, expressing satisfaction with the country’s firm steps in managing migration issues and safeguarding migrants’ rights.
