Africa-Press – Tanzania. JKT Tanzania maintained their position at the top of the Mainland Tanzania Premier League standings after securing a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Mashujaa at the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Mbweni , Dar es Salaam, on Monday.

The decisive moment came in the 40th minute when Laurian Makame calmly finished from close range after the Mashujaa defence failed to clear a loose ball inside the penalty area.

The goal proved enough to separate the two sides in a tightly contested encounter in which both teams struggled to create clear scoring opportunities. The victory lifts JKT Tanzania to 27 points from 15 matches. The leaders have now recorded seven wins, s i x draws and only two defeats this season, underlining their growing consistency in the title race.

Mashujaa, meanwhile, remain ninth in the standings with 14 points from 14 matches, having managed three wins, five draws and six losses so far. Elsewhere, the draw for the CRDB Federation Cup Round of 64 has been conducted, setting up several intriguing fixtures scheduled to take place between 17 and 19 February.

Defending champions Young Africans (Yanga) will begin their title defence against Cosmopolitan at the KMC Complex in Mwenge, Dar es Salaam.

Simba have been drawn against Greenland of Kagera in a match that will also be staged at the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium. Azam FC will h o s t Endument from Kilimanjaro at the Azam Complex, while Singida Black Stars face Copco of Mwanza. Other notable fixtures include TRA United against Rhino Rangers, JKT Tanzania taking on Pan African, and Mtibwa Sugar meeting IAA of Arusha.

Coastal Union are scheduled to play Nyumbu, while Mbeya City will face Biashara United. Additional ties will see Geita Gold clash with Kajuna, Kagera Sugar meet Mighty Elephant, and Dodoma Jiji square off against Kilimanjaro Wonders.

KMC will play Bandari Tanzania, while Mashujaa are set to face Nkim. With league leaders JKT Tanzania continuing their impressive domestic run and the Federation Cup fixtures now confirmed, the coming weeks promise an exciting period for Tanzanian football fans as clubs battle for honours on multiple fronts.
