Africa-Press – Tanzania. NCCR-Mageuzi presidential aspirant, Haji Ambar Khamis, pledged to deliver a new constitution within his first 100 days in office if elected in the forthcoming General Election.

Mr Khamis, accompanied by his running mate, Dr Evaline Munisii, arrived at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Ndejengwa, Dodoma, at around 12:16 p.m. to collect nomination forms, a move he made quietly, without supporters or fanfare.

Speaking to reporters after receiving the documents, he said constitutional reform would be his administration’s first priority, noting that the matter has gained national consensus.

“The whole nation is discussing the new constitution, and even the ruling party has supported the idea. As you know, NCCR-Mageuzi has been at the forefront in demanding constitutional reforms. The proposed constitution will be amended to address current issues and outdated provisions, guided by citizens’ views,” he said.

Mr Khamis also vowed to improve access to affordable healthcare services, expressing concern over the growing number of Tanzanians losing their lives due to high medical costs.
