Africa-Press – Tanzania. NATIONAL women U-20 team and Yanga Princess player, Aisha Masaka left on Wednesday for Sweden to join BK Häcken FF.
Masaka follows her team mates Mwanahamisi Omary, who trades at SC Chabab Mohammedia of Morocco, Enekia Lunyamila and Diana Lucas who serve Ausfaz Assa Zag of Morocco. At the moment Opa Clement is on trial to join Turkish club Yikatel Kayseri, apart from the four mentioned national team stars.
Yanga Princess confirmed Masaka’s departure recently through the club’s official website.
“Yanga Princess wishes Aisha Masaka good luck after signing for BK Hacken FF Club which plays in the Swedish Women’s Premier League.” They also had a farewell event during her last match, where Yanga won 1-0 over Ilala Queens.
At that event, she issued her remarks: I am happy to join the Swedish club BK Hacken FF. I hope this will uplift most Tanzanian ladies’ morale and commitment to work hard and play for international clubs.” Masaka was a key striker to her ex-club, as she netted 35 goals in the 2020/2021 season of Mainland Women’s Premier League.
Following her achievement, she urged parents to support their children, especially girls to play football, as the parent support encourages a child to excel.
“It has been a successful year but required my parents’ support. I cherish their support. Parents should support their daughters so that they can achieve their goals as football players.” Masaka revealed her target is to become Swedish top scorer. “The goal is the same, to score in the Swedish Women League; that is my identity as Aisha Masaka. I want to become the best,” Aisha insisted.
It will be a most delightful year if Masaka grabs the golden boot in Swedish league as Enekia Lunyamila was crowned the best player of the year 2021 last week.
Lunyamila was glad to receive such an award and wrote in her Instagram account: Lord is good all the time, never give up, work hard, dream big. It is a milestone in the women’s mainland league witnessing five of its players joining giant international clubs.
Masaka has joined the Swedish Women League champions who played UEFA Champions League in the previous season but were knocked out by Manchester City.
