Africa-Press – Tanzania. MASHUJAA Queens FC Head Coach Ally Ally has expressed strong satisfaction with both his team’s progress and the overall standard of competition in the ongoing Tanzania Women’s Premier League (TWPL), describing the season as encouraging and highly competitive.

Speaking in an exclusive interview recently, the former JKT Queens tactician said he is impressed by the quality of play on display across the league, noting that teams are showing greater tactical awareness, physical preparedness, and technical growth.

Reflecting on Mashujaa Queens’ performance so far, Coach Ally revealed that he is 80 per cent satisfied with the team’s current direction, while acknowledging that certain areas still need refinement.

“Overall, we are performing well and moving in the right direction, However, there are small issues we must address particularly in the attacking department.

These are details we continue to focus on during training,” Ally said. Despite creating numerous scoring opportunities, the coach admitted that finishing efficiency remains a concern.

He explained that the technical bench has intensified training sessions to improve decision making, composure and accuracy in the final third.

“Our biggest focus right now is the attacking line; we are working hard to build confidence in front of goal so that we can convert more of the chances we create. Once that improves, our overall performance will rise significantly,” he added.

On the subject of the mid-season transfer window, Coach Ally struck a cautious note, stressing that he is not in a hurry to bring in new players. Instead, he prefers to thoroughly assess the current squad before considering reinforcements.

“At this stage, I cannot make any final decisions regarding transfers,” he explained.

“I want the team to play at least five more league matches so I can clearly evaluate our direction and identify whether any areas truly need strengthening.”

Mashujaa Queens have so far established themselves as one of the league’s most competitive sides, with the coaching staff confident that minor improvements will help the team push even further as the season progresses.

The Kigoma-based side currently sits fourth on the Women’s Premier League table, having collected nine points from four matches.

Their record includes three wins and one defeat, with the team scoring eight goals while conceding only two, underlining their solid defensive organisatio
