Africa-Press – Tanzania. DODOMA: ZANZIBAR President, Dr Hussein Mwinyi said the nation should make maximum use of former Prime Minister and First Vice-President, Mr John Malecela’s vast experience in politics, leadership and diplomacy to foster further development.

He gave the accolades here on Sunday while gracing the 90th birthday of Mr Malecela, saying his vast experience, wisdom and leadership in a number of avenues must be used in socio-economic aspects.

“We pray that the Almighty God keeps you long, healthy and strong, so that we can keep on enjoying the wisdom and advice from you taking into an account your leadership excellence,” he pointed out.

President Mwinyi said the government values Mr Malecela’s contributions, especially in a number of leadership posts he held in the country, saying they will always cherish them and use them as lessons for best practice.

In the political aspect, he said, the former prime minister’s contribution in the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) as a committed member is clear and thus trusted to be picked as the Mainland Vice Chairman.
