Africa-Press – Tanzania. JKT Tanzania delivered a ruthless attacking display to thrash Pan African 7-0 in the CRDB FA Cup clash at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium yesterday.

It was a one-sided affair from the opening whistle, as JKT Tanzania asserted dominance early and never looked back, with four of the seven goals coming in a blistering first-half performance that left Pan African chasing shadows.

The star of the afternoon was Paul Peter, who produced a sensational four-goal masterclass to dismantle the opposition’s defence.

The lethal forward struck three times before the break, completing a stunning first-half hat-trick that effectively sealed the contest inside 45 minutes.

Peter opened the scoring in the seventh minute of the game with a clinical finish after a well-worked move, setting the tone for what would become a long afternoon for Pan African.

He doubled the advantage shortly in the 13th minute of the encounter after reacting quickest inside the box to slot home his second.

And in the 22nd minute, he scored his third goal in emphatic fashion, as he capitalised on defensive hesitation.

Karim Mfaume also etched his name on the scoresheet in the first half, adding the fourth goal with a powerful strike that beat the Pan African goalkeeper, Godfrey William and further tightened JKT Tanzania’s grip on the match.

By halftime, the contest was all but decided, with JKT holding a commanding 4-0 lead. Despite easing the tempo in the second half, JKT Tanzania maintained control of possession and continued to threaten.

Peter returned to complete his four-goal haul, calmly finishing to make it 5-0 in the 69th

minute and cap off a memorable individual performance.

Pan African struggled to respond, failing to convert their few attacking opportunities as JKT’s defence stood firm to preserve a clean sheet.

Substitute Edward Songo who came on in the second half of the game bagged two goals in 80 and 91 minutes of the game and made it hard for visitors.

The emphatic victory sends a strong message to other contenders in the CRDB FA Cup, as JKT Tanzania underlined their ambitions with a performance full of intensity, precision and attacking flair.
