PM Sees Good Progress in Spencon–Mabogini Road Project

Africa-Press – Tanzania. AS part of his ongoing working visit to inspect various development projects in the Kilimanjaro region, the Prime Minister Mwigulu Nchemba has today inspected the construction of the Spencon–Mabogini–Kahe–Chekereni road, which stretches 31.25 kilometers.

During his inspection, the PM instructed the road to be transferred from the Tanzania Rural and Urban Road Agency (TARURA) to the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) so that it can be upgraded to tarmac standard.

Speaking on the need for the upgrade, he said that the road serves as a bypass and will significantly reduce congestion in Moshi town centre.

Responding to the Premier, the Deputy Minister for Works, Godfrey Kasekenya, assured Mr Nchemba that the road, which passes through rice and sugarcane-producing areas, will be upgraded and constructed to tarmac level as directed.

Additionally, he said that the remaining 6.4 kilometers of the Kibosho Shine–Kwarafael–International School road, out of a total length of 25.52 kilometers, will be completed to tarmac standard without delay.

The Prime Minister continues with his four-day tour in the Kilimanjaro Region to inspect infrastructure projects and engage with citizens.
