Africa-Press – Tanzania. PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has said that the late Jenista Mhagama was a role-model leader who touched the lives of many through her leadership, integrity, and selfless dedication to serving the nation.
Speaking today, December 13, 2025, during a farewell service held at the Blessed Maria Theresa Ledóchowska Parish, Airport Area, Dodoma, President Samia said that, from her personal knowledge of her, Jenista Mhagama was a courageous leader, a mentor to many, and a defender of justice, who stood firm in prioritising the interests of Tanzanian citizens and the nation.
President Samia noted that the late Mhagama was a pillar of hope for many people and an example to emulate in public leadership. She said Jenista was a teacher by profession and used her education, talent and experience to teach many the true meaning of leadership founded on ethics, integrity, and accountability.
“She devoted herself wholeheartedly to serving the nation, her party, the Peramiho Constituency, Parliament, and the country at large. She was a strong leader, humble before God, and steadfast in defending and prioritising the interests of the nation,” President Samia said.
The President added that the government and Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) recognise the late Jenista Mhagama’s significant contribution to building the party, strengthening government institutions and serving citizens with patriotism and dedication.
On behalf of the government and the people of Tanzania, President Samia conveyed her condolences to the family, relatives, friends, leaders, and the people of Peramiho following the loss, urging them to carry forward the good legacy left by the late Mhagama, particularly by upholding integrity, justice, and patriotism in service to the nation.
