Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Southern African Development Community (SADC) have met here today in an emergency meeting to discuss various urgent matters requiring immediate decisions.
Tanzania’s Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Said Shaib Mussa, participated in the SADC’s Emergency Meeting that drew Council of Ministers in the Tanzanian capital, Dodoma.
The Chairperson of the meeting, who is also South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, stated that the meeting was a continuation of SADC member states’ unity in coming together to discuss various urgent matters requiring immediate decisions.
The meeting discussed preparations for the Emergency Summit of Heads of State and Government, scheduled to be held virtually on the evening of November 7, 2025; budgetary issues related to defense and security; and SADC leadership matters following the withdrawal of the Republic of Madagascar from serving as Chair of the Community for the August 2025–August 2026 period.
