Africa-PressTanzania. Arusha District Commissioner, Kenani Kihongosi has asked citizens to safeguard projects and infrastructures being built in the country, adding that they are the fifth phase government’s efforts and require general support.

The DC made the observation today (January 6, 2021), while in Arusha after arresting a Police Officer, who was caught stealing electric power from the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) by illegally connecting a line to his toilet with the intention of avoiding electric bills.

Elaborating, Kihongosi said the cop was also caught with various equipment being used at the ongoing construction hidden in his ducks’ coop.

He said, the citizens should be patriotic and learn to own the public projects and built infrastructures, because they cost a lot of taxpayers money
