Samia Lauds CCM Support After Fundraising Hits 87 Percent

Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE National Chairperson of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has lauded CCM members’ quick response that saw the fundraising campaign hit 86.51 percent target in its first day.

In its first day, the fundraising campaign raised 86.51bn/- out of the targeted 100bn/-.

The ruling party seeks the funds for the campaigns heading to the General Elections in October this year.

She expressed her appreciation on Tuesday night during the launch of the party’s fundraising event at Mlimani City and announced that the exercise will last till August 27.

Speaking at the launch of CCM’s fundraising drive for its campaigns, held at the Mlimani City Hall in Dar es Salaam, President Samia expressed gratitude to party members who have made contributions in various ways, noting that the fundraising exercise will continue until the 27th of this month.

Additionally, she said that the funds raised during the entire fundraising period will fully support the party’s campaigns, with a target of collecting 100bn/- from its more than 13m/- members.

During the event that gathered the attention of over a million people, the National Chairperson, President Samia, donated 100m/-.

Distinguished guests at the main table contributed a total of 270m/-, including Dr. Philip Mpango (20m/-), Dr. Hussein Mwinyi (50 mil/-), Kassim Majaliwa (20m/-), Hemedi Suleiman Abdallah (20m/-), Stephen Wasira (20m/-), Dr. Tulia Ackson (20m/-), and Zuber Ally Maulid (20m/-).

CCM Zanzibar donated 4bn/- and pledged an additional 1bn/-. GSM Group, represented by CEO and Young Africans President Hersi Said, contributed 10bn/-, while the club itself pledged 100m/-.

Evangelist Boniface Mwamposa donated 50m/= mil/- in support of the campaign and the construction of the party’s new headquarters.
