Africa-Press – Tanzania. CCM presidential candidate Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, is expected to officially conclude her national election campaigns tomorrow at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza.
Addressing journalists yesterday at his office, Mwanza CCM Regional Secretary, Mr Omary Hassan, said the closing event marks the culmination of the party’s nationwide campaign trail ahead of the General Election.
“Chama Cha Mapinduzi will conclude its campaigns tomorrow and our Chairperson, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, will be the guest of honour at the CCM Kirumba Stadium,” said Mr Hassan.
He noted that preparations for the major event have been completed, with various entertainment groups and local artists scheduled to perform.
“The CCM Party in Mwanza Region has organised itself well for the event. We welcome all members and non-members to attend and be part of this historic moment,” he said.
Mr Hassan explained that Mwanza was chosen to host the closing rally due to its strategic significance and the high concentration of voters in the Lake Zone.
“The decision to conclude campaigns in Mwanza is deliberate, the Lake Zone accounts for about 38 per cent of the country’s total voters, with Mwanza Region alone having approximately two million registered voters,” he noted.
He added that CCM’s campaign activities in the region had been conducted smoothly, with the party successfully reaching out to a large number of citizens.
“Our campaigns here in Mwanza have been peaceful and productive. We have achieved our target of engaging many citizens and spreading our message effectively,” Mr Hassan stated.
He concluded by inviting all residents of Mwanza and surrounding regions to turn out in large numbers for the final rally, which is expected to attract thousands of supporters.
