Africa-Press – Tanzania. SIMBA has confirmed that they are taking their opening match of the CAF Champions’ League group stage against Petro de Luanda of Angola with the utmost seriousness, as the result could prove pivotal in determining their path in the prestigious continental competition.
The highly anticipated match is scheduled to take place at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on November 23, 2025.
Speaking to the press in Dar es Salaam, Msimbazi based Media and Communications Officer, Ahmed Ally, emphasised the significance of the upcoming fixture, stating that the team is putting in the necessary preparations to ensure they make a strong statement from the get-go.
“We are giving this match the utmost importance because we believe it could be decisive in shaping our path in this competition,” Ahmed said.
“It’s a big game for us and we know that a positive result will set the tone for our campaign in the group stage.”
Simba remains confident in their ability to advance to the quarterfinals.
The team’s ambitions are high and they believe they have the squad and the mentality to go deep in Africa’s most prestigious club competition.
“We are aware of the opponents in our group, we are confident that we can make it to the next stage,” Ahmed added.
“We ask our fans to come out in big numbers and support the team. Their presence in the stadium will give our players the morale to perform at their best. A win in this match will be incredibly important for us.”
