Africa-Press – Tanzania. SINGIDA Regional Administrative Secretary (RAS), Dr Fatuma Mganga, has directed heads of sections, departments, and units to ensure efficient use of government funds to deliver tangible, positive outcomes for citizens.
Dr Mganga issued the directive yesterday during the first quarter Budget Committee meeting for the 2025/26 financial year, held at the Singida Regional Secretariat offices.
She emphasized that leaders must guarantee value for money in all projects implemented under government funding and ensure close monitoring to achieve meaningful impact for communities.
“It is crucial that every shilling disbursed by the government brings visible and measurable benefits to the people. Leaders must take full responsibility in overseeing the proper execution of development projects,” she said.
During the meeting, members deliberated on various issues, including budget implementation reports, financial expenditure plans, and challenges facing development projects in the region.
Dr Mganga also commended the Legal, Procurement, Infrastructure, and Accounts units for their strong collaboration, which has contributed to the successful and high-quality completion of several projects.
Emphasizing accountability, she urged all leaders to supervise their subordinates in properly filling in the Public Employees Performance Management Information System (PEPMIS) in line with their assigned duties.
She also directed each department head to define key performance indicators to effectively assess their unit’s achievements.
The meeting was attended by department and unit heads, along with District Administrative Secretaries from throughout the Singida Region.
