Africa-Press – Tanzania. Six Orlando Pirates players have been nominated for the Player of the month award for October following their exemplary performances in the South African Premier League, and the Carling Cup.

It was another high-performance display dished out by coach Abdeslam Ouaddou and his charges who recorded four victories out of five matches played – with the only blemish in their record being the surprising 3-0 defeat in the DRC against FC Lupopo.

Outside of that poor result, Pirates went on to defeat Siwelele and Magesi to reach the semifinal of the Carling Knockout Cup as well as move up the Betway Premiership log table where they are now sitting in third place behind Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United.

Here is the list of players nominated for the award;

Mbekezeli Mbokazi

Fast becoming Mr Consistency at Orlando Pirates. He has not missed a game yet and long may it continue. Mbekezeli Mbokazi continued to produce good performances for the club in October but the highlight for the young centre back must be the game against Siwelele in the Carling Knockout Cup. His goal in that game will surely be up there with some of the best goals witnessed Esgodini.

Lebone Seema

While much of the spotlight has shone on his defensive partner Mbokazi, Seema has quietly gone about his work with calm assurance. The 22-year-old only missed one match this past month and that was the 3-0 defeat to FC Lupopo but in matches where he has been a starter (four in total), the team only conceded twice and kept two clean sheets in the process.

Sihle Nduli

Nduli remains one of the unsung heroes of this Pirates side. The 30-year-old midfielder might not grab headlines with flair or goals, but his work rate, leadership, and tactical discipline make him indispensable in coach Ouddaou’s team. Whether breaking up play, covering spaces, or driving the team’s intensity, Nduli embodies what it means to be a team player.

Masindi Nemtajela

October has been a very good month for Masindi. The diminutive midfielder has gone from being a relatively unknown player at the beginning of the season, to becoming one of the first names in the coach’s starting lineup.

Oswin Appollis

Appollis has been a revelation since joining the Buccaneers. The 24-year-old has taken to life at the club like a fish to water. Whether scoring decisive goals or creating moments of magic, Appollis has been a constant threat. At times, he has been simply unplayable this season proving to be a true difference-maker in the final third.

Tshepang Moremi

Together with Appollis, Moremi ensured that the absence of Relebohile Mofokeng was hardly felt during October. His attacking contributions were crucial as shown in the match-winner against Polokwane City and another standout display in the Carling Knockout Cup clash with Magesi FC. Like Appollis, Moremi continues to deliver when it matters most.
