Africa-Press – Tanzania. Speaker of the National Assembly Job Ndugai has ordered two Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) MPs Josephat Gwajima and Jerry Silaa appear before the Parliamentary Privileges, Ethics and Powers Committee to answer various allegations leveled against them.
Bishop Gwajima and Silaa who represent Kawe and Ukonga constituencies in Dar es Salaam respectively, have been alleged of being untruthful and tarnishing the image of the Parliament, according to a statement released by the Bunge’s information Unit on Saturday.
The statement added that Gwajima has been scheduled to appear before the committee in Dodoma on Monday (August 23, 2021) while Mr Silaa will be required to wait until the following day (Tuesday).
If none of the implicated MPs fail to appear before the committee according to the schedule, the statement added, legal measures will be taken against the MPs.
