Africa-Press – Tanzania. Stanbic Bank Tanzania has donated 21 oxygen tanks worth approximately 15m/- to Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) in its efforts to support the health sector in the country.

Stanbic’s Head of Risk, Mr Wilmot Ishengoma, handed over the oxygen tanks to the Kilimanjaro Regional Medical Officer, Dr Credianus Mgimba, who represented the Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner at a hand over ceremony, held at the hospital.

“Medical oxygen is critical to our health and we are honoured to offer our support in making it available so that lives can be saved”, said Mr Ishengoma.

The KCMC acting Executive Director, Dr Stephen Kolimba said the lender donation will reduce the deficit of the much needed gas cylinders at the hospital.

The handover of 21 oxygen tanks to KCMC, follows a donation of seven oxygen tanks to Bugando Referral Hospital in Mwanza last month.

In Mwanza, the handover of the donation was done by Stanbic’s Head of Technology and Operations, Mr Mussa Ally, and received by the Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Eng Robert Gabriel.

To-date, Stanbic has contributed over 1.0bn/- as part of its Corporate Social Investment, mainly in health and education sectors.
