Africa-Press – Tanzania. DAR ES SALAAM: Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, Professor Adolf Mkenda, has directed both public and private schools to accommodate students whose schools have been adversely affected by the ongoing rainy season.
Addressing reporters in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, Prof. Mkenda promised to release details of students who would have been received into other schools later.

“Many areas have been affected by floods…education infrastructures have been severely damaged in different areas like Rufiji, Kibiti resulting in the closure of some schools,” he noted.
The minister said details of students who will be accommodated in other schools should be channeled to Ward Education Officers just for the record.
“In the long run, we will determine if the admitted students get permanent transfers,” he said.
However, the Minister urged school bus drivers to take extra precautions during this rainy season to avoid potential risks.
Different parts of the country have been affected by floods which have ruined key infrastructures, thus deterring the provision of social services.
Some affected social service infrastructures include roads, schools, bridges, and other facilities.
Some people have lost their lives, and others have been left homeless, forcing the government to take measures to rescue them, including providing food, shelter, and medical treatment.
