Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Chairman of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) in Tanga Region, Rajab Abdulrahman, has called on all parliamentary and ward councilor aspirants in the region to avoid arrogance and instead focus on communicating their policies and priorities for serving the people.
He made the remarks today during the opening of a campaign committee meeting at the ward, district, and regional levels held in Korogwe District. He urged the aspirants to remain humble and committed, emphasizing that they carry a major responsibility of serving the public in their respective areas.
The chairman stressed that the aspirants should not be boastful, as the party has entrusted them with the belief that they can be approachable leaders who respond swiftly to the needs of the people, rather than creating barriers between themselves and the electorate.
“Let’s go out there and fight for our party to win a landslide victory instead of becoming inflated with pride. The party has trusted you to be part of the solution to address the people’s problems in your area,” said the Chairman.
He also took the opportunity to warn party members who may be planning acts of sabotage that any such behavior, once identified, will attract strict disciplinary action.
Meanwhile, the former regional CCM chairman, Mussa Shekimweri, remarked that the party’s victory relies heavily on election committees fully executing their responsibilities.
“This party is strong, but when it comes to elections, we must not take anything for granted. We must ensure we are well-prepared at all levels to secure enough votes,” Shekimweri emphasized.
Additionally, the Member of the National Executive Council (MNEC) from Tanga Region, Mohamed Salim Ratco, called on the campaign committee members to work closely with party leaders to ensure a resounding victory in the upcoming elections.
