Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA and China have reaffirmed their commitment to maintain and deepen their long-standing cooperation in various sectors.
That was revealed today, December 10, 2025, in Harare, Zimbabwe, when the Tanzanian High Commissioner to Zimbabwe, Suzan Kaganda, held an official meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Zhou Ding.
The two envoys discussed key issues focused on strengthening cooperation between Tanzania and China.
During their discussions, Ambassador Kaganda expressed her gratitude to the Government of China for continuing to be a major development partner to Tanzania, particularly through funding and implementation of various strategic projects such as the construction of bridges, roads, and modern railway lines. She noted that these projects have significantly contributed to economic growth and improved public services in the country.
Ambassador Kaganda further highlighted that China has continued to support Tanzania in the education sector by offering scholarships to Tanzanian students across various academic levels.
She emphasised that this support reflects China’s commitment to fostering development not only for the Government of Tanzania but also for individual citizens.
For his part, Ambassador Zhou Ding thanked Ambassador Kaganda for the working visit and reaffirmed that China remains committed to maintaining and strengthening its long-standing cooperation with Tanzania. He stated that the relationship between the two nations is built upon historical foundations, including collaboration dating back to the era of Ujamaa under the founding leaders of both countries.
Ambassador Ding also noted that Zimbabwe is among the African countries that have benefited from the strong ties between Tanzania and China, stressing that Tanzania’s role in the liberation struggles of Southern African nations, including Zimbabwe, continues to be respected and appreciated.
