Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Tanzanian youth organization, African Leadership Initiatives for Impact (ALII), has been awarded the UNESCO Global Citizenship Education Award in recognition of its significant contribution to promoting peace and development to over 50,000 Tanzanian youth.
The award ceremony, sponsored by the Republic of Korea, took place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.
The award was formally received by ALII Executive Director Joseph Malekela and ALII Board Chair Neema Chusi.
At the event, institutions from Tanzania and Ecuador were among the winners, selected from a competitive pool of 154 organizations from 76 countries worldwide.
The Tanzanian Embassy in France, which also represents the country at UNESCO, warmly congratulated the leadership of ALII and its partners for their significant role in promoting peace and development among youth—an achievement recognized by the international community.
