Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, has joined the Embassy of Türkiye in celebrating the 102nd Anniversary of the Founding of the Republic of Türkiye and reaffirmed Tanzania’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Türkiye, particularly in the areas of diplomacy, trade, and investment.
Speaking at the colourful event held on Friday in Dar es Salaam, the Minister mentioned other areas of cooperation between the two countries as education, health, transport, defense, culture, and tourism.
Additionally, Mr Kombo thanked the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) for supporting various development projects in Tanzania, including those in health, sports, and the environmental sector,s which have contributed to community development in the country.
He also appreciated the Türkiye government for enhancing its partnership with Tanzania, citing the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project being implemented by the Turkish company Yapi Merkezi, the growing trade between the two countries, and the educational scholarship opportunities offered to Tanzanians in Türkiye.
Moreover, the Minister conveyed congratulatory messages from President Samia Suluhu Hassan to the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the people of Türkiye, commending them for their remarkable achievements in development, peace, and national unity.
For his part, the Ambassador of Türkiye to Tanzania, Bekir Gezer, thanked the government of Tanzania for its cooperation and friendship, emphasizing Türkiye’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries across multiple sectors for the benefit of both peoples.
