Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Pakistan community in Tanzania came together to celebrate their country’s 78th Independence Day with a heartfelt ceremony marked by patriotism, unity, and a shared vision for progress.

The event featured a flag-hoisting ceremony, inspiring speeches, and expressions of national pride. Attendees included Pakistani expatriates, community leaders, and officials, all gathered to honour the legacy of the day Pakistan was born under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Siraj Ahmad Khan, the High Commissioner of Pakistan, led the proceedings and reminded the audience of the sacrifices that paved the way for Pakistan’s independence.

“Today, we commemorate a turning point in our history,” said Khan. “We owe our freedom to the vision and sacrifices of Quaid-e-Azam and his companions. It is now our responsibility to realize their dream of a modern, peaceful, and prosperous Pakistan.”

Muhammad Waheed Mushtaq, the Chairman of the Welfare Association of Pakistanis in Tanzania, also addressed the gathering. He encouraged the diaspora to continue strengthening ties between Pakistan and Tanzania and to uphold Pakistan’s image abroad.

“Though we may live far from our homeland, Pakistan lives within us,” Mushtaq said. “We must continue to work hard, serve our communities, and build bridges of friendship between our two nations.”

The ceremony concluded with the national anthem, the distribution of Pakistani flags to children, and a renewed pledge to contribute to Pakistan’s development. Speakers and participants alike emphasized the importance of unity, national values, and collective service.

This event was part of a global series of Independence Day celebrations organized by Pakistan missions and diaspora communities, aimed at reconnecting overseas Pakistanis with their roots and reaffirming their role in the country’s future.
