Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Minister for Constitution and Legal Affairs, Dr Damas Ndumbaro, has assured nations around the world that the 2025 General Elections will be conducted in accordance with the law by being free, transparent and fair.
Dr Ndumbaro made the statement today in Dar es Salaam during the 79th anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Italy noting that Tanzania is ready to collaborate with any country that genuinely wishes to support the advancement of democracy, politics, and electoral processes through the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
However, the minister warned that Tanzania will not allow any interference in its election plans, which are expected to take place in October.
For his part, the Italian Ambassador to Tanzania, Giuseppe Coppola, said that Italy is ready to cooperate with Tanzania to strengthen diplomacy between the two countries.
Commenting on the upcoming general election, Ambassador Coppola expressed Italy’s hope to see Tanzania conduct a peaceful election, upholding the principles of democracy, transparency, justice, and freedom.
The 79th anniversary of the Republic of Italy, held in Dar es Salaam, was also accompanied by the commemoration of the 64 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and Tanzania.
