Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA has begun reviving cooperation with Kosovo after over three decades since the country separated itself from Yugoslavia.
The effort to renew cooperation was unveiled on Sunday by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, who is in Kosovo for a three-day visit.
While in Kosovo’s capital Prishtina, Mr Kombo met and held a conversation with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Sadriu, and the two leaders discussed strengthening the relationship between the two countries, especially in the areas of trade and investment.
The discussions were held at the Prishtina State House in Kosovo where Ambassador Kombo paid the Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Sadriu a visit following an invitation from her.
However, they also agreed to collaborate on other areas of agriculture and tourism.
In their discussion, Mr Kombo commended the existing cooperation between Tanzania and Kosovo and ceased the opportunity to invite businesspeople from Kosovo and investors to come to Tanzania and explore the various business and investment opportunities available.
On her part, Kosovo’s President Sadriu noted that her country values the diplomatic cooperation between the two countries and is committed to continuing collaborating with Tanzania in the area of diplomatic matters and bilateral relations for the benefit of its citizens.
Moreover, President Sadriu stated that her country supports the proposal to establish a Joint Economic Commission while pledging to send a delegation of businesspeople to Tanzania to explore available opportunities.
Tanzania’s Minister Kombo is in Kosovo for a three-day visit where he is expected to participate in the Third International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security, scheduled to take place from June 2 to 3, 2025.
