Africa-Press – Tanzania. BAGAMOYO College of Arts and Culture (TaSUBa), in collaboration with the Indian High Commission, has concluded a painting competition that involved 20 participants, aimed at strengthening cultural ties between Tanzania and India through the Indian Ocean.

Speaking to the media today in Bagamoyo, the TaSUBa Deputy Principal in charge of academics, research, and consultancy services, Gabriel Kiiza, said the competition was intended to showcase and connect Tanzanian and Indian cultures through the art of painting.

He added that the initiative is part of broader efforts to promote art and culture, while also creating opportunities for artists to learn and exchange experiences at the international level.

Meanwhile, the representative of the Bagamoyo District Commissioner, Jalala Sammatta, urged Tanzanians to love and appreciate locally made products and artworks, saying that doing so is a way of supporting artists and contributing to the growth of the community economy.
